NEW ORLEANS - A day after WorkBoat Show keynoter John Dane declared that Gulf shipyards are "full of OSVs," BAE Systems announced its Jacksonville, Fla., shipyard will soon be full of PSVs: The company announced it will build two of them for Jackson Offshore Operators.
Each will be qualified under the Jones Act and will measure 252'x60', with design provided by Guido Perla & Associates. BAE will, in conjunction with the new work, also hire another 250 workers by mid-2013 at the Jacksonville yard.
