Drew Marine has completed the
acquisition of the Chemring Marine business, now named Drew Marine Signal and
Safety. DMSS brings 125 new employees to Drew Marine with locations in
Bremerhaven, Germany, Hampshire, UK, Pamplona, Spain, and Melbourne, Australia.
DMSS is a manufacturer and
supplier of pyrotechnic marine distress signals, offering recognized brands
such as Comet, Pains Wessex, Oroquieta and Aurora. It offers a large selection
of SOLAS compliant products sold through a distribution network that spans 80
countries, Drew Marine says, and it also sells signal and safety products to
the non-SOLAS/leisure market.
“As a global organization,
it is imperative that we continue to grow in ways that support our mission of
providing a superior brand, products and services to our customers,” says Len
Gelosa, Drew Marine’s president and chief executive officer, in a company press
release. Drew Marine Signal and Safety compliments Drew Marine’s expanding fire
and safety business.
Drew Marine provides technical
solutions and services to the marine industry. Its products and services
include water treatment, fuel and energy management, maintenance chemicals and
coatings, welding and refrigeration, sealing products and the fire, safety and
rescue business.
Drew Marine was acquired by
J.F. Lehman & Co., a middle-market private equity firm focused on the
defense, aerospace and maritime sectors, in 2009.
