The Coast Guard’s third and newest 154’ Sentinel-class Fast Response Cutters, the William Flores, recently arrived at 7th District
headquarters in Miami. WorkBoat correspondent Dale K. DuPont talked with
commanding officer Lt. Cmdr. Craig Allen about the vessel, which can make 28
knots and is powered by twin MTU diesel engines producing a total of 5,800 hp. Built
by Bollinger Shipyards, Lockport, La., the cutter will be commissioned Nov. 3
in Tampa.
